One of the focal objectives of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), the premier and the oldest scientific organization of the country, has been to promote scientific temper among young scholars as well as mid-career scientists and to encourage them for participating in various programmes relevant to fundamental, experimental and operational activities aimed at human welfare. Keeping in view, ISCA initiated opening of Regional Chapters since 1986 – 87 at various places in the country.

The Bhubaneswar Chapter of the ISCA was started on June 5, 1996. Since 1997, in order to promote scientific temper, the Chapter has been regularly holding a seminar on the theme of the ensuing Indian  Science Congress. Besides this the Chapter has been successfully organizing several kinds of activities like observation of: National Science Day, World Environment Day, Environment Awareness Campaign, Workshops/Seminar/Conference, Exhibitions, etc. ISCA Bhubaneswar Chapter is going to organize National Seminar on Science & Technology for National Development in India on
December 18-19, 2017 with association of KIIT University Bhubaneswar.
