Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA)
The Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) owes its origin to the foresight and initiative of two British Indian Chemists, namely, Professor J. L. Simonsen and Prof. P. S. McMahon. The Association was formed with the following objectives:
- To advance and promote the cause of science in India
- To hold an annual congress at a suitable place in India
- To publish proceedings, journals, transactions and other publications , and
- To popularize the benefits of science to the environment and society.
Due to the development of Science & Technology in our country the present economic scenario has been changed although the societal expectations from S&T are increasing with rapid advances in Science and Technology. To make Indian science and technology more noticeable, involvement of institutions of higher education is required thereby motivating young minds to contribute to challenging areas requiring advanced research.
Society has received immense benefit from the scientific discoveries which has reached the common man through a form of technology. A new technology which has impacted the society has very strong science backbone. Today, India needs to strengthen its scientific knowledge for development of relevant technologies which can be catered to the common masses. This is only possible through promoting and nurturing affordable innovation. Keeping in mind all these aspects the theme of the seminar has been chosen so that at the end of the discussion the future India Science and Technology may penetrate the young minds to fulfill the need for next two decades.
The seminar includes invited lectures and oral/poster presentation in
various disciplines as given below:-
- Physical Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences etc.)
- Biological Sciences (Animal, Plant, Medical Science etc.)
- Engineering & Applied Sciences ( all Branches of Engineering & Technology)
Call for Abstract
Research papers from all branches of science and Technology are invited for oral & poster presentation. The interested participants are requested to submit the abstract (not exceeding 1000 words) only at via email:[email protected] Selected abstract will be published in the proceedings of the seminar.
- Scientists, faculty members, research scholars & students from universities, colleges, research institutions & industries are invited to participate.
- One person can present only one poster however he/she may be coauthor of others.
- Best poster will be awarded

Indian Science Congress Association
One of the focal objectives of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), the premier and the oldest scientific organization of the country, has been to promote scientific temper among young scholars as well as mid-career scientists and to encourage them for participating in various programmes relevant to fundamental, experimental and operational activities aimed at human welfare. Keeping in view, ISCA initiated opening of Regional Chapters since 1986 – 87 at various places in the country.
The Bhubaneswar Chapter of the ISCA was started on June 5, 1996. Since 1997, in order to promote scientific temper, the Chapter has been regularly holding a seminar on the theme of the ensuing Indian Science Congress. Besides this the Chapter has been successfully organizing several kinds of activities like observation of: National Science Day, World Environment Day, Environment Awareness Campaign, Workshops/Seminar/Conference, Exhibitions, etc. ISCA Bhubaneswar Chapter is going to organize National Seminar on Science & Technology for National Development in India on
December 18-19, 2017 with association of KIIT University Bhubaneswar.
